Alpha Industrial has again put the excavators into operation at the Obertshausen industrial park, this time on the last remaining large-scale plot. The investor, project developer, owner and asset manager of commercial and industrial real estate has already let the entire first phase of the park with a total area of approx. 12,000 sqm, and is now starting the second construction phase as part of an overall project to revitalise the former army equipment depot. The site, which is already established in the market as a location for service, production and industrial companies, is centrally located in the Rhine-Main region with a direct link to the A3 motorway. Alpha Industrial recently gave the green light for the second phase following the signing of a lease contract with a retail company for a development of approx. 6,600 sqm. The plan is to expand the business park by a total of approx. 17,000 sqm of modern commercial, office and social space.

Forklift builders Linde have hailed their second “World of Material Handling” event as a success, with a new record number of visitors. Over 7,000 guests from about 50 countries, mainly customers as well as distributors, business partners and employees, attended the German company’s showcase event, staged from 9 to 25 May at a disused factory in Offenbach, a suburb of Frankfurt. The company says this is an increase of 15% on the 2014 debut.

On 9 October 2015 TVH Group acquired the British company Rentaclamp. Thanks to this acquisition, TVH reinforced its activities in the attachment market for the United Kingdom and Ireland. RUSCON, a leading transport company in Russia, has installed an automated system for loading mineral fertilisers at its terminal close to the port of Novorossiysk on the Black Sea. The bulk cargoes are delivered by trains arriving from all over Russia and then loaded into sea containers or packaged in big-bags before being taken to the port for export.

On  16 May, Hutchison Port Holdings Limited (HPH) subsidiary Barcelona Europe South Terminal (BEST) achieved a new record when it moved 7,760 TEU on the call of MSC Beatrice. A total of eight ship-to-shore gantry cranes were deployed simultaneously for the operation, achieving a peak Vessel Operating Rate of 221.3 moves per hour.
